A 20-year-old man who was a passenger in a Ford Escape SUV died after the vehicle struck a semi-truck in Florida. The crash happened at roughly 6:45 a.m. The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to gather more information about the accident. The 26-year-old driver of the SUV was traveling southbound in a Ford Escape SUV on the Florida Turnpike by University Drive when the vehicle stopped in the middle of the lane. The semi-truck collided with the SUV, causing the passenger inside to suffer critical injuries. He was later taken to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital and later passed away. Officials found the semi-truck with front-end damage.
